I carved this face into the bark of a willow a few year ago, it's fascinating to see the way the tree heals and grows and the way the carving changes with it.

This slow but intense sculptural spectacle of dead wood and living wood exerting their forces on each other in all weathers, softening and hardening together, shrinking and expanding until they finally become one. It is what I hoped for when I planted this willow into the decking six years ago and I am so thrilled by this result!

A peek into our office: the little squares of coloured glass were inspired by a sublime experience I once had in a church. On sunny days, the sun reflects off the water outside my office and once a day, rises high enough to reach the glass squares and the light projects through into the hallway. The disturbance of the surface of the water creates unique and intricate patterns of light. It is quite a spectacle every time.
